My Story

Without boring you to death, let me take this moment to share my story. An artist my entire life, always sketching, coloring, and never staying within the lines. My childhood dream was to draw Disney characters and environments. The Lion King had a great impact on my life and as an artist. The ability to capture life with pencil and paper always brings me back to my childhood.

Growing up in Fair Lawn N.J, I always attended art classes in school. Those classes were my escape from any issues back in the day. Math and I did not get along. The only “A” I cared about was my Art score. My professors at The Art Institute of New York City definitely challenged me. Creative problem solving and communication definitely was a learning curve.

The transition to design was definitely a challenge for me. The degree definitely took longer to achieve than expected. After graduating with my Associates Degree, my journey led me to the Queen City, Charlotte North Carolina. My pursuit of my Bachelors Degree led me to the Art Institute of Charlotte. All the beautiful souls that encouraged me, motivated me, and even followed me; I say thank you.

A few years after graduation, my journey has been like many other stories. Working as a freelancer with marketing firms and full-time employment led to new skills and ambitions. With a fearless attitude and a rare combination of skill and curiosity that keeps me humble yet effective.

Creative Problem Solving

The creative industry is an excellent opportunity to explore new solutions. Communication design helps people understand the world around them. Symbols like a stop signs and crossing symbols are the most powerful examples of this. Have you ever traveled in New York City? The Subway system is an excellent example of design that gives people a sense of guidance without saying one word. A combination of shapes, colors, grids, etc give any tourist an opportunity to explore. Now, smartphones help us achieve the same goals much quicker.

Branding is an extension of powerful communication. You cannot have a perfect product, without quality packaging or messaging. A logo is only a small piece of a puzzle. All elements including marketing, collateral, and a website must be consistent to communicate to an audience. Quality branding brings those elements together and builds a personality than an audience can relate to.

Websites are no different. Whether it is an ecommerce website or a promotional platform; all the navigational elements, colors, and content are tools for users to find relevant information. The best websites solve complex problems swiftly and with minimal effort. A user first mindset will declutter and organize content to its maximum potential.
